Get to know me

Hey there!

I’m Avery and I’m so glad you’re here.

I am a 30 year old wife to my greatest friend, a mama to two rambunctious toddlers and a 2 year old black lab mix named Axel, and the proud owner of A Very Fit Mama.

Here’s a look inside my story:

Growing up I was always very active in sports, keeping up with my older brothers and my younger sister by my side, all the while discovering my own passions for movement and training. Fast forward in life and I graduated from UCF (Go Knights!) in 2016 with a BS in Sports and Exercise Science.

Over the years I have worked as a trainer in several different capacities. At first helping friends and family, to working with athletes, and ultimately becoming a NASM CPT and running a rehabilitative/personal training gym for a well-known chiropractor in central Florida.

In 2019 I became pregnant with my first baby boy and suddenly I didn’t know what to do with myself in the gym. I didn’t know what movements were safe for my pregnant body, I couldn’t move the way I used to anymore, and my energy seemed to be dropping daily.

While I loved being pregnant I struggled to feel my best physically and fuel my body the way it was asking me to. I had a lot to learn!

In 2020, amidst the height of quarantine and postpartum motherhood, I decided to become certified to help the very women I identified with. And almost overnight my passion for fitness and for motherhood gave birth to A Very Fit Mama - a clever play on my name, in an effort to strengthen my motherhood fitness journey and empower other women to do the same.

Over the last several years our family has grown and the differences between my first and second pregnancies and postpartums, due in large part to my fitness and nutrition tools, have been tremendous! So now, after a small hiatus with the birth of our daughter, I am excited to get back to impacting and encouraging the women I feel so called and connected to.

Our business was created with the knowledge of a trainer and the heart of a mother, to equip and strengthen women to achieve their fitness goals and to rise to the highest calling of motherhood.

If you’ve found us here, mama, I want you to know you are not alone and you are stronger than you know.

Let’s take this journey together.

“So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.”

~ Isaiah 41:10

None of this work I love would be possible without the support of my closet people in life, especially my brilliant and diligent husband. I am forever grateful.
